How do you create and duplicate a Transform assistant?

With Transform, you can create your own custom AI assistants, tailored to your needs and writing style. Once created, your assistants are directly accessible from the online editor and the browser extension.



Accessing the assistant creation page


To create a new Transform assistant:


  1. Log in to your MerciApp workspace.
  2. Click on Transform in the left-hand menu.
  3. Click the New assistant button at the top of the list.


Filling in the assistant details


The creation page includes three required fields:


  1. Assistant name — Choose a short, memorable name that is unique within your workspace. Example: "Sales email rewriter".
  2. Description — Write a brief description of the assistant's role (180 characters maximum). Example: "This assistant helps improve email writing".
  3. Assistant instructions — This is the core of your assistant. Describe precisely what it should do: the tone to adopt, the transformations to apply, the expected style, etc. The more detailed your instructions, the more relevant the results will be.

Testing your assistant before creating it


One of the key advantages of this page is being able to configure everything in one place: you write your instructions on the left and test them immediately on the right, with no back-and-forth between multiple pages.


To test your assistant from the Test the assistant panel:


  1. Insert a sample text in the "Insert the text to transform here..." field.
  2. Click the Test button.
  3. The generated result appears in the Result area.


Adjust your instructions based on the result, then run another test until the behaviour matches your expectations.


Tests are counted against your Transform quota, just like any normal usage.


Saving a test preset (optional)


If you regularly use the same text to test your assistants, you can save it as a preset to retrieve it in one click during future tests:


  • Click + Save as preset in the Presets section.


Finalising the creation


Once your assistant is configured and tested:


  • Click Create the assistant to save it.
  • Click Cancel if you want to discard without saving.


Once created, your assistant is immediately accessible from the online editor and the browser extension (Google Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge).


Duplicating an assistant


Another way to create assistants is to duplicate existing ones and modify them to suit your requirements.


  1. Open MerciApp and go to the AI Assistant page 🤖.
  2. On the assistant you want to duplicate, hover over the icon on the right — a dropdown menu appears. Click Duplicate.
  3. An assistant creation page opens with the content pre-filled.
  4. Customise the assistant to fit your needs.
