How do I create or duplicate an assistant?

1 - Create from scratch


  1. Open MerciApp and go to the Transform page (AI Assistant page) 🤖.
  2. Click on the "Create an assistant" button at the top right.
  3. Define the assistant's instructions. (This is optional, but you can also add knowledge to your AI assistant so that it is more accurate in its responses).
  • Define a unique and memorable name for the assistant.
  • Fill in the assistant description. This is useful for identifying the assistant's role from the list of assistants in the editor and from the Transform pop-up.
  • Fill in the instructions that the assistant must follow.
  • Upload documents (PDFs up to 10MB) that will be useful for understanding a topic.
  1. Save your new assistant and then try it out in an input field.


Some tips for writing effective AI assistant instructions:Giving it a role, a summary of its mission, context, a tone or style to follow, precise instructions, examples of results, and, if necessary, a final note to be applied at the end, will enable it to achieve better results. Examples are provided below.



2 - Duplicate an assistant


Another way to create your assistants is to duplicate existing templates and modify them according to your requirements.


  1. Open MerciApp and go to the AI Assistant 🤖 page.
  2. On the assistant you want to duplicate, hover your mouse over the icon on the right and a drop-down menu will appear. Click on Duplicate.
  3. An assistant creation page will appear with the content pre-filled.
  4. Customize the assistant according to your needs.
