Each industry, and often even each company, has its own vocabulary, with terms that are not part of everyday language. To make it easier to use these terms, MerciApp offers a shared dictionary where you can add words that will be automatically recognized as valid by the analyzers.

How do I access the shared dictionary?

• Open the MerciApp web space and log in to your account
• Go to the Dictionary section and click on Shared

How to contribute to the shared dictionary?

From the web space

Add words directly in the Shared Dictionary section. This method is recommended when you want to add a complete list at once.

From the extension

You can also add them directly from the browser extension.

• Write a sentence containing a word you want to add to your shared dictionary.
• It will be underlined in blue because it is not known to our dictionaries.
• Click on it and choose the option Add to shared dictionary or Suggest to shared dictionary. Rights differ depending on user status (see next section).

• The word is then added directly or submitted to your shared dictionary.

Who can contribute to the shared dictionary?

By default, all members of a space can contribute to it, under specific conditions depending on their role.

Administrators and owners

Users with an administrator or owner role can add words directly without validation. To do this, simply enter all the desired words, individually or in batches, and click on Contribute to the dictionary.

Members

Users with a member role can suggest words to the dictionary. Once the words have been suggested, the administrators and owners of the space receive an email asking them to moderate the requests. Moderation is carried out directly from the shared dictionary section.

It is possible to approve or reject all requests individually or in batches. After a contribution has been accepted or rejected, the author receives an email informing them of the decision.

Members can track the status of their contributions from the shared dictionary.

Limiting contributions

It is possible to restrict contributions to administrators and owners only. To do this, go to your space settings and check the box below.

View the list of words in the shared dictionary

All users of a space can view the contents of the shared dictionary at any time by going to the dedicated section, regardless of their role.
