We've improved the Transform interface to offer you an even more intuitive rephrasing experience. Previously, Transform was displayed in a fixed window in the center of your screen. Now, Transform appears as a side panel anchored to the right of your work window.

This change allows you to easily compare your original text with Transform's rephrasing suggestions without having to close the panel each time you want to consult it. A real time-saver when finalizing your writing!

📊 How does the Transform side panel work?

Automatic opening:

Select the text you want to rephrase
Call up Transform using the icon or the usual keyboard shortcut
The side panel will automatically open on the right side of your window

How to customize writing rules?

Thanks to language preferences, MerciApp allows you to configure the correction engine rules according to your preferences. They apply only to your profile and are not available in the free version.

|| Language preferences are currently only applicable to corrections in French. || Language preferences are limited to French and do not impact alerts in other languages, as they are unique to the specific French linguistic rules. This is why this page is not translated.

To access language preferences:

Log in to your account.
Click on Language preferences on the left side of your home page.
Finally, by clicking on the small green (or red) square that counts your mistakes in a text box, you will also find a button at the bottom of the alert panel to go to the language preferences page.

You can configure the different writing rules by clicking on the following five categories:

style only available on the MerciApp Assist version!
spelling
grammar
syntax
typography

Question 3

I only want to subscribe to a MerciApp Pro subscription

Accepted Answer

You can subscribe all members of a workspace at the same time. You cannot subscribe only some of the members.

If you wish to subscribe to a MerciApp Pro subscription just for yourself, simply remove the other members from your workspace. If you do not want new members to access your space, remember to revoke the invitation to that space.

You can then proceed to pay for MerciApp for your account only.

How to use MerciApp Windows with a system proxy?

Your company may be equipped with a proxy that requires authentication using a username and password assigned to you.

Configuration

When launched, if a proxy is detected, MerciApp Windows will ask you to enter your credentials in the window below. Once the credentials have been entered, the application will perform a connection test; if the credentials are valid, it will launch normally, and you will not have to enter them again.

What should I do if my credentials are updated by my company?

In this case, simply exit and restart MerciApp Windows; the application will then automatically ask you to enter your new credentials.

Errors in the MerciApp add-in for Outlook

Accepted Answer

The MerciApp add-in for Outlook relies on features made available to developers by Microsoft, the publisher of the target software. Unfortunately, Microsoft is aware of certain anomalies and is still working to correct them, making some features unavailable through our add-in or causing different behaviors in some cases.

My email is not analyzed automatically on macOS

Retrieving the content of your email requires a proprietary solution provided by Microsoft that we do not control. Unfortunately, this solution causes a slowdown each time it is used; since automatic analysis requires us to retrieve content at regular and frequent intervals, the writing experience was significantly compromised.

We therefore decided to offer manual analysis instead. Once you have written your email, or whenever you have doubts about a sentence or paragraph, click on the Analyze button at the top of the MerciApp add-in pane. Alerts will appear below within a few moments, as on other platforms.

Applying a suggestion breaks the formatting of my email on macOS

Modifying the content of your email requires a proprietary solution provided by Microsoft that we do not control. To date, this feature has not yet been finalized and cannot handle certain formatting elements.

Among the elements identified are:

numbered or unnumbered lists,
images embedded in the body of your email that have been edited in Outlook (e.g., cropping).

Invite a member or join an existing workspace

You want to invite members to join your space:

You have been invited to join a workspace even though you already have a MerciApp account:

Simply accept the invitation you received by email.

If you are invited to join a new workspace, your current workspace will be deleted and your documents will be transferred to the space you have been invited to join. You will not lose any documents.

You will then receive this message:

If a paid MerciApp subscription (Correct or Assist) is active for your current workspace, please provide us with the email addresses of the users concerned (those who have changed workspaces) so that our support team can issue a pro-rated refund. The refund will be issued once all users concerned have joined your new workspace. If there are other members in the workspace you are leaving, the subscription will remain active and the other administrators and owners will take over its management.
